What is Sage Pay and 3D Secure?
We have recently introduced Sage Pay as an additional safeguard to protect both our customers and ourselves against credit card fraud.
 
What are Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode (3D Secure)?
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode (3D Secure) are the latest fraud prevention initiatives launched by Visa and MasterCard. Full details can be found from your card issuer.
3D Secure works in a similar way to Chip and Pin, by asking you to enter a unique password in order to complete your online order.
 
How does Sage Pay work?
1. You select the goods they wish to purchase from our website and enter your order and delivery details.
2. Your credit card details are captured securely by Sage Pay.
3. You will be prompted to enter your Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code (3D Secure) password on your card issuer's page (optional).
4. Our bank sends the credit card details to your card issuer who authorises or declines the transaction.
5. Our bank then sends the transaction results back to Sage Pay.
6. Sage Pay sends the authorisation results to us and to you to confirm the results of the transaction.
 
How does Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode work?
You will be given the option to register your cards and/or verify your transaction, when purchasing from us. Once the you have entered your card details on Sage Pay’s hosted payment page you will be prompted (on the confirmation page) to register your card for 3D Secure (if you have yet to do so) or proceed with the transaction and enter the pin number you have set up for online transactions.
 

Alternatively, payment via cheque or bacs is also accepted in pounds sterling for the value of your order. All cheques and bacs payments must be drawn on a UK bank & made payable to;

Our carrier's definition of Mainland UK does not cover certain areas of UK. A next day delivery option to the Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands & Northern Ireland cannot be guaranteed due to the availability of ferry crossings and possibility of adverse weather conditions. Separate carrier costs for those zones have been outlined below;

Timescales

Orders placed before 2.00pm on a working day will be processed that day and will be delivered as per the requested delivery option, provided no additional security checks are required and all stock items are available. A working day constitutes days Monday to Friday only, not including UK bank holidays.


As soon as the goods are dispatched you will be notified by e-mail. If for any reason it is not possible to deliver your order within the allotted time period or an ordered item is out of stock, we will notify you by phone or e-mail as soon as possible.


Next day delivery

To ensure a next day delivery to an address in Mainland UK you should select the "Next day" option at checkout. In order to guarantee next day delivery, orders must be placed before 2.00pm to allow for packing and pick up.

 

Next Day Delivery option selected for orders placed on a Friday will be delivered on the Monday of the following week.

Next day delivery selected for orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday will be delivered on the Tuesday of the following week.

This is due to our carriers being unable to guarantee delivery on Saturdays and Sundays and we apologise for any inconvenience.

 

Special requests

If you have any special requests regarding your delivery, (i.e if you specifically require delivery on a Saturday, specific days that you will not be present to accept delivery, or the details of a neighbour in your street that is willing to accept delivery for you) please enter them in the box provided at the check-out stage.

 

 

Delivery address

In most cases, for purposes of security, we will only deliver your order to the address of the card holder. If you wish to have your order sent to another address, you must contact us to arrange an alternative solution. Please note: Our reason for this condition is purely to protect both yourself and The Tool Vault against the increasing problem of credit card fraud.

Collection in store

If you wish to save yourself the cost of any carriage on your order, you may wish to collect goods directly from our store. In this case, orders must be placed directly by phone on 0131 510 5550. Our experienced staff will deal directly with your order and contact you when your items arrive in stock. Should you have any queries regarding the status of your order please ring or email the store directly and they will be able to advise you.

 

 

 Delivery problems

If you are not at home when our carrier's vehicle arrives, the driver will leave a card to notify you that they have called. Please note that in some cases (i.e pallet consignments or deliveries over 25kg you may be liable for any re-delivery costs). 

 

Please note that if there is no-one available to sign for your delivery and you requested to have it left in your back garden, on the door mat or in an outbuilding etc., this is done at your own risk. Our carrier will post a card through your door to inform you that it has been left in the specified place. The Tool Vault does not accept responsibility for loss or theft of items left in an unsecure place at your request.

 

 

 

Whilst every effort shall be made to keep any delivery date, time of delivery shall not be of the essence. The company shall not be liable for any consequential loss incurred by the buyer or any other person or company arising directly or indirectly out of any failure to meet any estimated delivery date.

 

If delivery cannot be made to your address for reasons under our Company’s control, our team will inform you as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements.

 

The Tool Vault cannot accept liability for goods lost in transit, unless we are notified within 5 days from the expected delivery date. This will be the date advised on the customers automated dispatch note which is emailed to the customer once the items have left our warehouse.

 

Should you require the goods to be redirected to another address after the goods have been dispatched you may be required to pay an additional postage charge.

 

 

Upon receipt of you order you will be asked to sign for the goods received in good condition. If the package does not appear to be in good condition then please refuse the delivery. If you are unable to check the contents of your delivery at the point of delivery then please sign for the parcel as “UNCHECKED”. Failure to do so may affect any warranty claims that you make thereafter.

 

 

 Any refused deliveries will be returned to The Tool Vault. Upon receipt of the goods, a refund will be issued minus 10% of the value of the order to cover administration costs.

Returns & Refunds

We aim to provide you with as much information as we can about each product so that you can make an informed purchase decision. However, to give you additional confidence, we will allow you to return any item if it is not what you require within 7 working days of receipt, as long as it has not been used and it is returned in its original undamaged packaging.

 

Customers are liable for the safe return of all goods as well as inherent carriage costs for returning products to the supplier. We reserve the right to charge a re-stocking fee of up to but not greater than £10.00. 

Returns Procedure:

Contact our team on 0131 510 5550 or e-mail us at customerservice@thetoolvault.com quoting the order number of the order to be returned/cancelled.

You should subsequently return the item(s) to us by the agreed method. Unfortunately we cannot accept proof of posting as confirmation of delivery.

Upon receipt of the item(s) we will refund the contract price of the item(s) subject to them being unused and in their original condition and packaging.

 

Faulty, Incorrectly Supplied and Damaged Items

If an item has been incorrectly supplied, received damaged or is faulty then you should notify us within 10 days of the receipt of the goods, following the Returns Procedures detailed above. Should we, upon receipt of the said items, be satisfied as to the alleged defects we will either replace the goods or arrange a refund of the full value of the goods and any carriage costs incurred.
